Apprentice Teaching Assistant (Level 2)
(Starting 1^st September 2024)

Term Time plus 5 days

32.5hrs per week (8:30am - 3:30pm, Mon-Fri)

Salary scale Apprentice rate (£6.50 per hour year 1)

Sir John Nelthorpe School is a successful and popular 11-19 mixed comprehensive school with a rapidly growing roll (currently 830 pupils). It has a caring ethos and a long tradition of academic attainment.

This is a key position within the support structure of the School. We are looking to appoint a caring and committed apprentice teaching assistant (level 2) from 1^st September 2024. You will be working with a dedicated team to help support pupils access to teaching and learning. You will experience whole class, small group work and working with individuals on a one to one basis. We are seeking a friendly and caring person who is able to establish positive working relationships with children and adults.

The apprenticeship will combine practical training in a job with study. You will be to achieve a Level 3 apprenticeship as a Teaching Assistant. Training will equate to 20% of working hours (usually 1 day per week) through Ashby Hub. The training can be done remotely following an initial induction on site.

You will have a good standard of general education including Maths and English at Level 2 (GCSE grade C or higher or equivalent or commitment to achieve this by the end of the apprenticeship).
