Salary scale 9-14 (Grade 5)

£25,119 - £27,334 (£18,894 - £20,560 pro rata)

This is a key position within the support structure of the school. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, efficient, motivated, friendly Cover Supervisor to supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers. Cover Supervisors give instructions for the lesson as provided by a teacher and the primary focus of the role will be to maintain good order and uphold standards of behaviour in the classroom and to keep pupils on task.

Cover Supervisors will respond to general questions and provide general feedback to teachers but will not be required to undertake ‘specified work’ (planning, preparation, delivery, assessment, recording and reporting of achievement, progress and development).

Candidates should be enthusiastic, engaging, flexible and highly organised with excellent literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills, a good sense of humour, a positive attitude and someone who understands the importance of developing a positive culture. These are all essential for coping with the demands of a busy school environment.

The post is also an excellent opportunity for those considering training to become a teacher.
